The Power Steering failed on the 2016 Cruze. We initially took it to Boch Chevrolet in Massachusetts where the problem occurred. My car is out of warrantee...53000 Miles ...but is only 2 years old. Boch offered to do nothing in the way of providing assistance to cover the estimate they gave me for over $2600. It was only after I was able to drive my car back down to New York w/o power steering that Pete Mairino, the Service Manager at Ingersoll said bring it in and let us see if we can get you assistance to cover some of the cost which they did. It ended up costing me $956 for the repair which was done in 2 days. Pete and Bill kept me up to date with everything they were doing which I appreciated very much. So, as far as the service, Ingeroll provided, I could not have asked for more from them...VERY professional. My only outstanding issue is that my loss of Steering was not an isolated incident. There are many cases listed on the internet that have occurred in Cruzes and GM has not issued any recall. My son was driving the car when the steering went and if it had been an elderly person on the road when this happened, I believe there could have been a serious accident because steering a car that has lost Power Steering is very difficult. I also believe these cars should be recalled and the problem fixed before it occurs and lastly I feel that GM should have provided some additional assistance to cover the cost(other than a $100 gift certificate for my NEXT service). Again, I want to be clear on this...the service at Ingersoll was all I could have asked for and Pete Marino was key in why my rating is a 10.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience! We appreciate the positive review and look forward to seeing you again!
